　　　3M (Minnesota, minerals and manufacturing companies) and Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone, recently sing in an agreement. 3M will construction of photovoltaic materials and new energy production facilities in Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone, The new plant will be named as the "3M Materials Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd.", is a part of 3M's industrial and transportation products division. The construction project will be divided into two phases; the second quarter of 2011 is expected to break ground.

　　　According to reports, the newly built - 3M Materials Technology (Hefei) Co., Ltd. will become 3M's 9th factories in China. 3M plans produced within the plant, including 3M Scotchshield film (used in crystalline silicon solar module encapsulation backplane) and a series of products. 3M will position the new company is equipped with high-technology and research and development staff to ensure that the industry's leading technology and best environmental practices with a central channel mainland production base.

　　　3M Company produces Scotch shield film series, with a tear, puncture, and high light transmission properties, can be used in solar photovoltaic components, protect and increase service life.
